Fulton County Schools in Alpharetta are on a roll for the 2019-2020 school year! Creekview Elementary School students and staff took their principal’s challenge to commit to “Be the Difference” this year. They’re doing a school-wide read of the Hard Hat for Kids by Jon Gordon, and teachers will use the story to guide discussions about teamwork to promote collaboration. Lake Windward Elementary School is celebrating its 30th year kicking off the year celebrating their longevity. Two teachers who helped open the school in 1989 are still teaching! Webb Bridge Middle School eighth grade student leaders and members of W.E.B. (Where Everybody Belongs) hosted a half-day sixth-grade orientation. This student-led mentoring program helps the newest students feel comfortable with the transition to middle school. Similarly, at Alpharetta High School, freshmen were welcomed with a special event by upperclassmen leaders in the Link Crew, a worldwide high school transition program to help incoming freshmen feel comfortable in the new environment and prepare them for success.

Aqua Vino Oct 4

Atlanta’s Deb Bowman Drops new album

Fast Heart is the debut for Deb’s original compositions with fellow songwriter Janet Powell. Deb is honored that hers was among the last projects recorded at the storied Power Station recording studio in New York City. The studio, which opened in 1977 and where artists like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, David Bowie and the cast of “Hamilton” have recorded, will be renovated and rebranded.   FAST HEART was engineered and mixed by AKIHIRO NISHIMURA and mastered by multi-Grammy award-winning engineer, PAUL BLAKEMORE.  Find the album wherever you download music.
