Summer for me means having my kids home from school and spending a bit more time with them than usual. This spring we celebrated two graduations, as my son graduated from college and daughter from high school. Each summer when my son came home from college we always joked that we knew he was home because he always left little clues that he was back home: cups left on the counter and on the coffee table, snack bowls left in his room, bathroom doors left open…you get the idea!
I have always wanted a huge island in my kitchen and talked about a renovation for years. Finally, this summer I am enjoying a newly renovated kitchen, designed by my clients at Georgia Cabinet Co. in Johns Creek. It’s gorgeous and very functional and I now have my huge island. And now there’s a ton of extra counter space for my son to leave cups everywhere!
All kidding aside, I am very grateful to have any extra time with my kids that I can. And as all parents say, time flies, so enjoy every minute.
Already this summer, I have enjoyed a beautiful outdoor concert and ballet performance – Vivaldi in the Park put on by the Johns Creek Orchestra and North Atlanta Dance Theatre, the Johns Creek Secret Garden Tour courtesy of my client Davis & Langford, strolled with my daughter at a sip n’ shop event in downtown Alpharetta, toured almost every retirement community in Johns Creek and Alpharetta with my father, took a hard hat tour of the new Halcyon in Alpharetta, and co-hosted a successful Lifestyle Publications advertiser event at 7 Tequilas restaurant in Johns Creek. Phew! I’m not exhausted, just trying to take in all the wonderful things that Johns Creek and Alpharetta have to offer.
Here’s to an eventful summer!
