After a thorough safety demo by a friendly and confident instructor, I held a shotgun for the first time. Looking out into the clearing, I waited for the clay to launch and BOOM. I aimed high, squeezed the trigger and missed, but could see the attraction. I shot four more times, finally nicking the edge of one unlucky clay sending it shattering to the ground. The Palmetto Bluff Shooting Club boasts an elevated and covered 5-stand station, plus a wobble deck field for a total of 15 shooting sites.  Guests of all abilities are welcome. All the instructors are charming, oozing with genuine southern hospitality that you’ll find at every turn at Montage Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina’s Low Country.
