On Haynes Bridge Road

The Daily, a forthcoming dining development planned for Alpharetta, has revealed two big names as the first tenants on its roster: King of Pops Bar and Biscuit Love. The Daily, developed by local firm Revel and Fresh Hospitality out of Nashville, will take up 14,000 square feet at 11556 Rainwater Drive, a location that previously housed The Varsity and is just northeast of North Point Mall. Developers hope to combine “the best aspects of casual restaurants, beer gardens, food halls, and event space in one unique, communal experience,” according to an official announcement. In addition to indoor space, there will be a 7,000-square-foot garden courtyard, which will host music, games and other activities. The Daily is expected to open to the public next May. A mixed-use project is planned for 62 acres off Lakeview Parkway between Morrison Parkway and Haynes Bridge Road. The project will feature townhomes, rental units, retail, restaurants, lake, park, pedestrian trails and a hotel. Thanks to Alpharetta CVB for this good news. More at AwesomeAlpharetta.com.

Funds Raised

The Polo in the Pines team is grateful to reflect on a remarkable year with the community and Lifestyle Publications. Early in 2017, Saville and Lilia Sullivan were chosen to be this year’s Polo in the Pines honorees. In October, the highest-attended and most successful Polo in the Pines event to date was celebrated. Then, in December, the team presented the year’s total raised for the Sharon McCollum Knight, Polo in the Pines Pediatric Cancer Research Fund to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This year’s contributions reached a grand total of $345,000, which will go directly to fund pediatric brain tumor research at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The impact made possible by each of our patrons is both inspiring and humbling. From the bottoms of our hearts, thank you for making this possible!

Coming Soon

The roughly $85 million next phase of Alpharetta City Center will include 105,000 square feet of restaurants and retail, three acres of green space and gardens; 36,000 square feet of office, and 168 apartments. The 26-acre City Center project already includes city hall, a library, a park and town green. Hedgewood Homes is also underway on 42 single-family homes. Our friends at Alpharetta CVB report that Liberty Hall, previously an abandoned gas station in the historic Alpharetta downtown district, will be a four-story commercial building with offices, shops, a restaurant and a rooftop social club. The building owned by the American History Guild will have Italianate architecture located at 33 South Main Street with handmade brick and custom-made wrought iron. One of the slated restaurants is Chef Todd Hogan’s Prairie. Hogan recently opened Indigo restaurant and lounge in the Crabapple area of Milton and also has Branch & Barrel in Avalon, as well as Branchwater in the Vickery area of Cumming. Liberty Cigar Company will have a retail location on the first floor of Liberty Hall. Each individual premium cigar is hand-crafted and designed with care.  Liberty Hall will have 9,500 square feet for a restaurant and retail, 12,000 square feet of offices, and 7,000 square feet for a social club called The Founder’s Club.  An owner of the building, John Adams (his real name as he is a descendant of the Founding Father), formed the American History Guild to tell America’s story. He is excited about building in Alpharetta and the private social club has already started to accept memberships. They are planning on a first-quarter 2018 full opening and expect full occupancy.
