The Gift of Doing 1

Whether you are having trouble finding a gift for someone or want to give something truly surprising this season, try gifting an experience. While there may not be much to unwrap, the real memories are made later, trying a new class or learning a new skill. From private yoga to skydiving, here are six unexpected gift ideas.

Put some flash in your dance

The Alpharetta outpost and popular adults-only dance studio also has more than 35 drop-in classes available. Dance 101’s instructors and choreographers are current and former professional dancers, with styles for all levels of ballet, salsa, jazz, bellydance, tap, contemporary and more. For any former dancer who has the itch to practice again, this is a great excuse to get back on the dance floor. Class cards and monthly memberships are available.

Find your Picasso

For the aspiring artist, let them hone their artistic skills at Out of the Box Art Studio. With options for wheel, drawing, oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, multi-media art and more, classes can be purchased in eight-week or year-long packages. Owners Julie and Sam McGill have a staff of art educators and studio artists that teach not only the hands-on methods to creating a work of art, but also highlight the history of each art form. Preschoolers through adults can make appointments to join a program. By the end of a session, artists will have their own masterpieces to gift to others.
