The fourth annual Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival will take place in downtown Alpharetta on October 7 and 8 this Fall and Alpharetta Lifestyle is proud to be the media sponsor for this energizing celebration of music.  Prominent songwriters from across the country will convene for the weekend with a kickoff event on Friday evening, the 7th, at Avalon where two acts will perform on the stage in the Plaza. Partners this year include South on Main and Smokehouse BBQ restaurants that will feature music on the premises as well as Hop Alley which will sell signature beers throughout the festival. All events on Friday are free to the public. Look for your favorite local acts as well as the talented and famous performers that have come to be associated with the Wire & Wood Festival in Alpharetta. On Saturday, October 8, music will be featured on various stages on the streets in Alpharetta as well as in restaurants, alleys and patios in the downtown area.

Expect to see multiple sets of music in truly unique and intimate settings beginning in the afternoon and extending into the evening. Featured headline performer John Oates, (who along with his musical partner Daryl Hall was inducted this year into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2014) will perform his many original hits with an exceptional acoustic band on Saturday night. Dozens of singer songwriters, including Will Kimbrough and Brigette DeMeyer will perform solo acoustic as well as “in the round” and share stories about how, when and where they wrote their hits and what inspired their brilliant songs. Food and beverages provided by local partners as well as festival merchandise will be available along Old Milton in the center of downtown. Please visit WireAndWoodAlpharetta.com
