Milton First Responders Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Georgia corporation comprised entirely of volunteer citizens. One hundred percent of the profits from fundraising events support their on-going mission: “To provide financial support for Milton first responder employees injured in the line of duty or enduring a family hardship and to purchase supplementary/non-budgeted equipment and training materials.”
In order to raise funds to fulfill their mission and increase community awareness, MFRF is building a team of volunteers willing to offer their time and talents to support various activities throughout the year. This might be volunteering at an event, earning service hours for school or work, donating products/services/gifts to be used for raffles and silent auction items, etc. Volunteers are not obliged to commit to any certain number of hours and can select which activities fit their schedules and interests.
MFRF also strives to connect local businesses with services that might benefit our first responders directly. A recent example is local attorney, John Hill, who stepped up in a big way by donating many hours of his time and expertise to assist Milton Firefighters and Police Officers with invaluable legal services. Hill personally drafted 39 Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Medical Directives for first responders and their spouses. This equates to $25,000 worth of work had he charged for these services. Due to the innate hazards of their professions, it is crucial that first responders have these documents in order to protect their families should the unthinkable happen. Hill stated, “It was an honor to work these local heroes.”
Representatives at the Milton First Responders Foundation send their appreciation to Mr. Hill for generously offering his time and services to ensure that our first responders have these important documents in order.
