Lemonade That Does More Than Quench Your Thirst

How about lemonade that assists in the fight against childhood cancer? In two days this June Alex’s Lemonade Days in Alpharetta was able to raise $90,000 to do just that. That astonishing amount is all from your generous donations and purchases. Alpharetta Lifestyle is very proud to be part of such a giving community, both in our residents and local businesses, such as Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, whose partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand was another key ingredient to this success. Cheers!

Growing Education at The
Cottage School

This August, The Cottage School is adding 4th and 5th grades to their successful school for the first time in 30 years. Steve Palmer, Head of School, addresses the need to offer this environment to younger learners, “This is a time when a child transitions from learning to read – to reading to learn”.   Founded in 1985 in Roswell, Georgia, The Cottage School is a private, non-profit education center that celebrates over 30 years of serving 6th-12th grade students with mild to moderate learning differences (including ADD and anxiety).  TCS is continuing to grow their programs to include the Arts, Technology and Career opportunities that will help the student who may not go on to college, but needs a workforce readiness to reach the independence and success we all want for our children.  For more information contact Julia Johnson England, Dir. of Advancement at 770.641.8688 or

Fire Marshall Shines

Alpharetta Lifestyle extends a big congratulations to Chad McGiboney, Johns Creek Fire Marshal, for successful completion of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program (EFOP). This four-year professional development program brings chief fire officials from all over the world together to enhance professional development and key leadership roles. McGiboney is the only member of the Johns Creek Fire Department (JCFD) who has earned the Executive Fire Officer designation. Many thanks for your continued dedication to our community!

The Bar is Raised

Local musician Lee Gamble began playing guitar over 30 years ago, and he has a true appreciation for a wide variety of music.  You’ll hear everything from Journey to James Taylor to John Mayer to Oasis and everything in between.  As one event planner recently said “once again, the entertainment for our event was provided by singer/guitarist, Lee Gamble.  A very energetic and interactive performer, Lee kept everyone engaged and having fun all night.  He has such an amazing repertoire of songs we all know and love and delivered them in a very heartfelt and genuine performance style. Lee was a real hit with everyone!”  You can check Lee out this August 6 and 21 at the Peach & the Porkchop, August 12 at The Mill Kitchen and Bar,  and on the 20th at Ray’s at Killer Creek.  For more information, you can also “like” his Facebook music page:
