More Ways To Sham-Rock This March

Over the past seven years, ShamRockin’ for a Cure has hosted the definitive St. Patty’s day celebration in North Fulton. Thousands have danced, feasted and partied in festive green year after year at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. But this isn’t just any ol’ party. It’s a party with a PURPOSE. The mantra is “eat, drink and cure cystic fibrosis.” Become a sponsor like our rockin’ partners–Golsen Family Dentistry–or just get your green out, join in the fun and help save lives… even if it takes all night. At this year’s ShamRockin’, you’ll have a chance to try some of the best restaurants in Atlanta, drink from a cup that never empties, dance to music all night, and shop among a special auction collection.

Young Ladies Who Lead

Each year the Martha Stewart Bulloch Chapter National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution awards outstanding young people in our community for their patriotism and excellence in pursuit of their educational goals. This year the winner of the DAR Good Citizen Award is Pooja Juvekar from Alpharetta High School, and the American History Essay Contest winner is Carolyn Rendle from Mt. Bethel Christian Academy. We are so proud of these outstanding young ladies. Keep up the good work!

Be Defensive

Atlas Fitness & Tactical Center opened its doors recently with the vision of providing the community a place where people can enjoy getting fit as well as learning serious self-defense tactics. Atlas’ “triangle approach” consists of realistic fitness, scenario-based self-defense and a virtual shooting range run by a seasoned 22-year Navy Special Forces war veteran and a former collegiate athlete/tenured basketball coach. Chief Bermudez and Coach Celeste are focused on teaching personal and corporate self-defense so that anyone can effectively ward off a predator whether they are defending their families or their businesses. Remember those mud-runs and Spartan races we told you about in January? They have actually built the obstacles that are found in these popular events into their facility, get in to train and keep up your healthy resolutions!

Smooth Sailing

Mentally ready for that cruise or beach vacation, but your body isn’t quite up to speed? As hard as you’ve worked to make 2016 your healthiest year yet, the unsightly appearance of cellulite (that can happen to the best of us regardless of diet and exercise) can ruin even our cutest bikini. Our friends at Aesthetic Specialty Centre are (thankfully) here to help. They are the first practice to offer the Cellfina™ treatment in the area. This procedure is performed in office under local anesthesia – patients walk in and walk right back out continuing their normal days activity wearing light Spanx™ -like garments. Clients get significant improvement within three days following treatment and two years after treatment 100 percent still had noticeable improvement. Lifestyle readers get $50 off any Hydrafacial or purchase one area of Botox & receive the second half off when scheduled with Kim Donahue or Allie McAllister.

Fast and Eco-Friendly

Alpharetta is widely known as a tech savvy town whose abundant green spaces make for an eco-friendly place to live and play, making it a natural fit for Tesla Motors, a technology and design company with a focus on energy innovation. The roughly 3,000-square-foot store, expected to open in Avalon this March, will be Tesla’s fourth store in the region. While Tesla designs and builds its cars in California, Georgia plays a major role in the company’s manufacturing supply chain.
