Down On The Farm

Scottsdale Farms Garden Center & Nursery is a fun and inspiring place that was started by the Gianturco family in 1982. Located on 65 picturesque acres in North Fulton County, the nursery has décor and greens for the outside and inside of your home with designer Holly Kreikemeir on site to help you create your unique look. This holiday season stroll through their Enchanted Christmas Tree Forest, open now through the end of December. The luxurious barn is filled with gifts, décor, hand selected ornaments, garlands, trees and one of a kind decorations.

The Perfect Number

The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY) honored Alpharetta teen Andy Yang for scoring a perfect 800 on SAT math as a seventh grader. We are thrilled with Andy’s accomplishment and hard work. Andy Yang, now an eighth grader of Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, is honored as one of the brightest middle school students in the world. This year, CTY’s Talent Search yielded more than 30,648 students in grades 2-8 representing all 50 states and more than 60 countries. Congratulations, Andy!

Artists’ Home

Sisters Christine and Wendy are artists and designers who had a vision for a hub where artists, makers and lovers of all things beautiful unite. Sis and Moon’s was created out of that vision, its truly a home to makers and artists alike. Locals come and contribute to the ecelctic mix of furniture, art, jewelry, clothing, pottery, household items and a miscellaneous blend of rediscovered and reinvented objects.

Finding Your Passion

Sammi Fuller, Alpharetta High School senior, spent last summer in Fiji with Rustic Pathways volunteering and helping native children, while throughout the school year, she continues to lead Unified Raiders. As president, she has helped the club make strides in activities from athletics to dances, enabling the schools special peers to have an authentic high school experience. She is leaving the AHS community this year with a new perspective from Fiji and she has some advice: “Find a passion and work towards that. If you find that one thing you’re passionate about, you’re pretty much set.”  Alpharetta Lifestyle applauds our readers who give back and invites you to share your news about generous neighbors right here.

Fun At The Farmtable

Wilbur and Rudy’s Farmtable is located in the old Buice’s General Store on the main corner of the Birmingham Crossroads in Milton, GA. They are dedicated to making this little oasis the main social gathering spot for our area with fun things to do like Mom’s Day Out and Live Music Nights. The concept has evolved from a simple farmer’s market into a truly unique organic grocery market and coffee shop. The mission is to provide organic, locally grown and made products for sale at reasonable prices. They also have a wine shop and lots of locally made gifts, decorations and home décor. Check in regularly for all the fun events.

Alpharetta Is Getting Smarter
